D'ou vient le nom.... What's in a name....

En français, c'est assez facile. Après l'une de mes premières prédications, le mari de l'autre prédicatrice dans notre assemblé a dit à mon mari: "moi aussi, j'ai une femme précheresse".
J'aime le jeu de mots.  Ça me rappelle que, comme tout le monde, je suis pêcheur  mais je suis pêcheur pardonnée, appelée à ce ministère particulier qui est le ministère de la parole.

In fact its a pun in French. In French prêcher means to preach.  But the verb to sin pêcher is just one letter different and an old-fashioned word for a sinful woman is pécheresse. So you could invent a word précheresse for a woman who preaches. (In reality that word doesn't exist and a woman preacher is a prédicatrice.) I like the combination - a reminder that although I'm called to this ministry, basically I'm dust - but dust created and loved and redeemed by God.  The word came from the husband of another woman preacher, who made it up to describe her.
